🔵 Validity date: to specify the commercial validity’s start and end dates of a catalog

There are two possibilities to indicate them:

  • Manual: validity period (day/month/year) entered by the user

  • Auto-generated: validity period active over N+1 years (by default at 31/12/20xx)

🔵 Historization date: to keep products in a deleted state in the EDI catalog (and having an end of validity date in iWi) from a specific date.

Products with an expiry date prior to the one determined in the catalog will not be exported. The purpose is to:

  • Limit the size of the EDI catalog by limiting the total number of products

  • Not transmit in the EDI catalog products that are too old

  • Keep the product history in iWiCatalog

  • Inform the optician software of the new status of the products. The risk is, depending on the software, to be able to order products that are no longer available in your catalog. Two types of catalog updates are possible on the software depending on the publisher:

    • Update: the software integrates the catalog with the new information. If the products are deleted they won’t be updated and will remain active

    • A total removal from the catalog before integration of the new one. In this case, there won’t be any possibility to order inactive products

There are two possibilities to enter the date of storage:

  • Manual: date (day/month/year) entered by the user

  • Auto-generated: date over N+1 years (default 01/01/20xx)

  • No labels
