IWICATALOG - Options: Technical

This frame contains the technical data of the options.

Characteristics

  • Processing visibility: indicates in the catalog if the option is visible to the eye or not
  • Applied to both lenses: indicates if the option is systematically applied to both lenses when ordering.
    • For example, you have to order a pair of lenses to have the tint
  • Available for ordering: defines if the option can be ordered. Sometimes it happens that some options are present in the catalog but can't be buy by the client. In this case we say that the coating is "not available for sale".
    • For example: a polarized option which is present in the catalog to describe the lens

CEN standards

  • CEN restriction: this restriction indicates whether the lens can be used in the car while driving

    • No restriction: informs that the wearer may wear lenses while driving

    • Not recommended for driving at night: this restriction indicates that the wearer will not be able to wear his lenses while driving at night. For example: the lenses of a category greater than or equal to 2.

    • Not recommended for driving: this restriction indicates that the wearer will not be able to wear his lenses while driving at night. For example: for category 4 lenses or degressive lenses

    • Depends on center thickness and coating: SF6 specificity

    • No information provided: SF6 specificity

  • Alternative CEN restriction: if you select Depends on center thickness and coating or No information provided you will have to choose from the list the restriction corresponding to the lens in order to be able to export in SF6 and other formats

  • CEN category: see the table below which indicates the category corresponding to the absorption of visible light

SF6 characteristics

This frame is specific for SF6 format. If you don't use this format, you don't necessarily have to fill in this data.

  • Polarized filter: Yes/No indicator to describe the lens combined with this supplement. If yes, the lens is a polarizing lens (lenstype.dat data 42)

  • Sorting: indicates the display order in the optician software.

  • Constrast enhancing: Yes/No indicator (options.dat data 46)

  • UV cut-off: digital value (options.dat data 34)

Tints and gradient tints

  • Photochromic filter: indicator that allows to identify a photochromic type option. This kind of option must be combined with the lens in mandatory, included and hidden

  • Absorption (top): mandatory for any type of tint option

  • Color (top): mandatory for any tint

  • Absorption (bottom): mandatory for any double gradient and triple gradient tints

  • Middle color: mandatory for any double gradient and triple gradient tints

  • Color (bottom): mandatory for any double gradient and triple gradient tints

For colors, you can use the color selective button. To enter the wanted color, you must click on the color panel and then:

  • Choose the color thanks to the mouse

  • Enter an hexadecimal code. This option allows to have the same color codes as in your paper or PDF catalog

Coating

In this frame you can precise the coatings. Except for the contact angle, all data are Yes/No indicators. The coating much be described as much as possible in order to give as much descriptive information as possible in the catalogs.

Contact angle: is used to determine the ability of a liquid to wet the surface of the lens (or coating). For information if the angle is between 90° and 180° then the treatment is considered hydrophobic. This information can help you to know if you need to activate the Hydrophobic check mark.

The different possible and most common cases of your coating can be:

  • Flash: at least the Flash check mark must be activated or the mirror one.

  • Mirror: Au moins la coche Miroir est activée. Or Flash.

  • Hard: hard coating (super hard coating is a SF6 specificity)

  • Antireflet:

    • At least the hard coating because an antireflet generally contains a hard. Therefore it will not be necessary to add a hardened option to give the information.

    • Clean coating (super clean coating is a SF6 specificity)

  • Polarized: polarizes filter
